On-site Support for Advance Directives and Organ Donation Registration

Bucheon City Public Health Center announced it is continuously operating the 'Visiting Well-Ending Counseling Center' for citizens who have difficulty visiting registration agencies due to mobility issues or health reasons. This counseling center specifically offers both advance medical directive and organ/human tissue donation registration services.

The 'Visiting Well-Ending Counseling Center' is a service where counselors directly visit the homes of elderly individuals and others who have difficulty going out. They provide 1:1 consultations and assist with the necessary registration procedures. To use the service, seniors or their guardians must first apply by phone to the Bucheon City Public Health Center at 032-625-4235 or 032-625-4202.

This service primarily focuses on consultations and registrations for 'advance medical directives,' which help individuals express their will regarding life-sustaining treatment in advance to realize their right to self-determination, and 'organ and human tissue donation registration,' which supports the practice of sharing life.

Users of the counseling service have responded positively, stating, "I'm grateful they helped me with a registration I had given up on because of my mobility issues," and "It's reassuring that they came directly to my home for the consultation."

Kim Eun-ok, Director of the Bucheon City Public Health Center, stated, "The 'Visiting Well-Ending Counseling Center' is a project designed to provide practical help to citizens who have physical limitations in exercising their right to self-determination. We will continue to actively support more citizens in choosing the values of a dignified end to life and sharing life."

For inquiries regarding the 'Visiting Well-Ending Counseling Center,' please contact the Health Policy Division of the Bucheon City Public Health Center at 032-625-4235 or 032-625-4202.
