The Cheonan Public Health Center will operate an experiential Health Promotion Center at the 2025 Cheonan K-Culture Expo, held at the Independence Hall from June 4th to 8th. Since the K-Culture Expo began in 2023, the Cheonan Public Health Center has consistently run a Health Promotion Center, contributing to the health promotion of citizens with great success, including approximately 7,500 visitors participating last year. This year, the Health Promotion Center will be located within the K-Beauty Hall, offering a wider range of experiences, exhibitions, and valuable health information.

Health Experience Zone with Cutting-Edge Technology

The experience zone at this year's Health Promotion Center will offer various advanced technology-driven health experiences through collaboration with local startups. Visitors can:

Experience Gait Assistance using Wearable Devices: Check their correct walking posture and balance. This is expected to raise interest in fall prevention and rehabilitation exercises, which are becoming increasingly important in an aging society.
Experience Health Promotion using Smartwatches: Easily check personal health data such as real-time heart rate, activity levels, and sleep patterns, and based on this, explore customized health management plans.
Additionally, visitors can:

Check Body Composition and Obesity with InBody Devices: Accurately understand their body composition, including obesity status, muscle mass, and body fat percentage, to help plan healthy diets and exercise routines.
Measure Stress Levels for Mental Health: A stress measurement device will also be operated to manage stress, a major concern for modern people. Visitors can objectively measure their stress levels and receive various information and counseling for stress relief. This is particularly expected to raise awareness of mental health issues, which are spreading among the younger generation, and contribute to mental health promotion through early intervention.
Informative Health Information Zone with Professional Institutions
The information zone of the Health Promotion Center will feature numerous major health-related organizations from the Chungnam region, providing richer and more specialized health information.

Chungnam Regional Cancer Center (Dankook University Hospital) will promote the importance of cancer prevention and provide information on the necessity of early detection and various types of cancer. As cancer is the leading cause of death in Korea, prevention and early detection are paramount, offering practical help to visitors.
Chungnam Regional Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease Center (Soonchunhyang University Cheonan Hospital) will emphasize the importance of blood pressure and blood sugar management, key causes of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and provide on-site blood pressure and blood sugar check services. This contributes to early detection and prevention of diseases, especially as hypertension and diabetes are chronic conditions requiring consistent management, making the Health Promotion Center a great opportunity to check one's health status.
Furthermore:

Chungnam Smoking Cessation Support Center will highlight the importance of quitting smoking and introduce various methods and support programs for smoking cessation. Through quizzes and other activities, they will raise awareness of the harms of smoking and motivate successful cessation.
Mental Health Welfare Center aims to alleviate social prejudice against mental health and provide accurate information about mental illnesses. In particular, through indirect experiences such as auditory hallucination simulations, they will enhance understanding of mental illnesses and provide counseling and referral services to those in need.
Cheonan City Addiction Management Integrated Support Center will conduct prevention education and counseling for various addiction problems, including alcohol, drugs, and gambling, and explore support measures for individuals and families suffering from addiction. The participation of these professional organizations is expected to be a valuable opportunity for citizens to obtain practical information and support necessary for health promotion.

Continuous Efforts for Citizen Health Promotion

Lee Hyun-ki, Director of the Seobuk-gu Public Health Center, stated, "We hope that many citizens and visitors will benefit from valuable health information for their health management," and "We kindly ask for much interest in the Health Promotion Center during the expo." Through the operation of the Health Promotion Center at the 2025 Cheonan K-Culture Expo, Cheonan City aims to provide citizens with the information they need to manage and promote their health independently, and to raise awareness of health through various experiences. This expo is expected to be more than just a cultural event; it will be a meaningful venue providing practical support for the healthy lives of citizens. Cheonan City plans to continue its multifaceted efforts for citizen health promotion in the future.
