SEOUL — In a landmark move set to reshape the landscape of the global artificial intelligence sector, South Korea’s LG Group and Silicon Valley giant NVIDIA have announced a massive expansion of their strategic partnership. The comprehensive alliance covers next-generation growth engines, specifically targeting "Physical AI" (robotics intertwined with the physical world), advanced AI Data Centers (AIDC), self-driving mobility solutions, and next-generation sovereign AI models. By combining LG's deeply rooted manufacturing prowess with NVIDIA's market-leading accelerated computing platforms, the two tech titans plan to co-create a seamless end-to-end AI ecosystem spanning industrial floors, smart homes, and urban roads.

The official announcement followed a high-profile Top Management Meeting (TMM) held on Monday at the LG Twin Towers in Yeouido, Seoul. The meeting was personally led by LG Group Chairman Kwang-mo Koo and NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang. The closed-door summit served as an immediate, concrete follow-up to a high-level dinner executive meeting held on June 5, during which Huang met with South Korea's top conglomerate leaders. Today’s session effectively finalized the mid-to-long-term scope of the corporate alliance, transforming abstract technological visions into detailed, cross-subsidiary operational roadmaps.

"I had an incredibly inspiring and exhilarating discussion with CEO Jensen Huang regarding the strategic cooperation that will redefine the future of global industries," noted LG Group Chairman Kwang-mo Koo. "NVIDIA’s visionary blueprint for the overarching AI ecosystem perfectly aligns with LG's core future vision, which seeks to introduce meaningful, value-driven transformations to our customers' everyday lives and industrial environments alike."

Echoing these sentiments, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang emphasized the critical geopolitical and technological importance of South Korean industries. "South Korea possesses world-class, undeniable competitiveness across the integrated domains of advanced manufacturing, mechatronics, and foundational artificial intelligence," Huang remarked during the summit. "When these distinct structural strengths are unified, robotics and Physical AI will naturally emerge as the primary core growth industries for the nation on a global scale."

Accelerating Physical AI and Autonomous Robots The cornerstone of the newly expanded alliance lies within the realm of Physical AI, an emerging domain where AI models interact directly with physical hardware and unpredictable real-world environments. Under the new agreement, LG Electronics will aggressively leverage NVIDIA’s cutting-edge robotics platforms—specifically NVIDIA Isaac, GR00T, and Cosmos—to rapidly upgrade its internal engineering capabilities for humanoid and logistics robots. Moving beyond simple software integration, the two companies have agreed to jointly develop a specialized reference robot based heavily on the NVIDIA Isaac GR00T ecosystem, aimed at standardizing intelligent robotics architecture.

This robotic push will draw heavily from the strengths of various LG affiliates to establish a robust, vertically integrated supply chain. LG Innotek, the group’s electronic component arm, is slated to supply advanced optical and sensing components that serve as the critical "eyes" for these autonomous machines. Meanwhile, LG CNS, the IT services unit, will focus on upgrading and deploying comprehensive AI-driven robotics platforms specifically optimized for complex manufacturing and warehouse logistics environments. Furthermore, by blending sophisticated digital twin simulation technology with granular operational data extracted directly from factory floors, the entities plan to accelerate the establishment of fully autonomous manufacturing ecosystems.

Revolutionizing AI Infrastructure and Liquid Cooling As the global demand for AI computation continues to skyrocket, infrastructure constraints have become a critical bottleneck. Addressing this challenge head-on, LG and NVIDIA are significantly broadening their collaboration in AI Data Center infrastructure. LG Electronics will undergo rigorous certification and joint development pipelines for its advanced data center cooling solutions, focusing on Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs) and specialized cold plates designed to manage the extreme thermal loads generated by next-generation GPUs. The companies will also collaborate on modular data center design utilizing NVIDIA’s Digital Twin Supercomputing Matrix (DSX) platform.

Simultaneously, LG Uplus, the telecommunications arm, alongside LG CNS, is actively reviewing plans to build next-generation AI Factories that natively implement NVIDIA’s DSX reference designs. Power supply management represents another key pillar of the infrastructure pact; LG Energy Solution, a global leader in battery technology, is currently in deep discussions with NVIDIA to engineer and deploy 800V Direct Current (DC) based power solutions. This specialized electrical architecture is tailored specifically to accommodate the massive, unprecedented surges in electricity demand seen in modern, hyper-scale AI facilities.

Next-Gen Mobility and Sovereign AI Synthesis The strategic partnership will also yield immediate ripple effects across the automotive industry. LG Electronics intends to blend its world-recognized in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) technologies with NVIDIA's 'Drive Hyperion' autonomous driving platform. This integration is expected to drastically advance the computing performance of next-generation Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and deeply integrated cabin AI systems. Supporting this transition, LG Innotek will expand its supply of automotive communication modules and high-precision sensing solutions to cement a strong presence in the next-generation connected vehicle market.

Finally, the alliance features a profound software-level synergy centered around large language models. The LG AI Research hub will utilize NVIDIA's flagship Blackwell GPU architecture, alongside software frameworks such as NVIDIA NeMo and TensorRT-LLM, to train and optimize its proprietary hyper-scale AI model, EXAONE. This hardware-software coupling is projected to drastically slash training times while maximizing real-time inference performance. In return, NVIDIA will provide comprehensive technical support to facilitate the creation of LG's 'Sovereign AI' frameworks, ensuring localized data security and accelerating the group-wide AI Transformation (AX) initiatives.

"The powerful combination of LG, with its massive global footprint in manufacturing and infrastructure, and NVIDIA, the undisputed pioneer in AI computing and platforms, will dramatically accelerate AI innovations across both industrial operations and consumer lifestyles," an official LG spokesperson stated, emphasizing the paradigm-shifting nature of the newly minted alliance.
