SEOUL – Global phenomenon BTS has officially announced their highly anticipated return as a full group, with plans to release a new album and embark on a world tour next spring. The seven members shared the exciting news during a Weverse Live broadcast on the afternoon of July 1st, expressing their determination to reconnect with fans worldwide.

This comeback marks a significant moment for the group, as it will be their first full-group release in approximately four years since their 2022 anthology album, Proof. The last time BTS collectively hit the road for a world tour was in 2022 with their "BTS Permission to Dance On Stage" series. The extended hiatus was largely due to the members' mandatory military service, which began with the eldest member, Jin, in December 2022. All members have now either completed their service or been discharged as of last month.

During the Weverse Live session, the atmosphere was reportedly jovial and filled with anticipation. Group leader RM elaborated on their immediate plans, stating, "Starting in July, we'll be together, focusing on music production." He further clarified the timeline, adding, "Our group album is scheduled to be released by spring [next year], not extending until July or August." RM also confirmed the highly anticipated world tour, saying, "Of course, we'll be doing a world tour. Please look forward to us visiting various places around the world." He reassured fans about communication, promising, "We'll communicate as much as possible through lives and social media. Please give us a little time, and we'll show you something proper all at once." RM also revealed that a significant portion of the album's production will take place in the United States, hinting at a global creative process.

Jimin expressed the group's dedication to their fans, stating, "We'll work hard and fast so that the waiting period for you all isn't too long. Just being together makes us happy." Jungkook echoed this sentiment, emphasizing a return to their roots: "This time, we'll gather with a completely beginner's mindset."

Since their debut in 2013, BTS has achieved unparalleled success, solidifying their position as one of the most influential music groups globally. They hold an impressive record of six No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 main album chart and six No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 main singles chart, breaking numerous records and garnering critical acclaim for their music, messages, and performances. Their groundbreaking achievements include being the first Korean act to perform at the Grammy Awards, address the United Nations, and sell out stadiums worldwide. Their discography, known for its diverse genres and poignant lyrics, often addresses themes of youth, self-love, and social commentary, resonating deeply with their massive fanbase, known as ARMY.

While the group prepares for their full-fledged comeback, individual solo activities are expected to continue for the time being. Jin, who was the first member to complete his military service, recently held a fan event titled "Run Jin Tour in Goyang" on June 28th and 29th at Goyang Sports Complex, marking his first official solo engagement since his discharge. J-Hope, who recently released his new solo track "Killin' It Girl" last month, is set to headline the Lollapalooza Berlin festival at Olympiastadion Berlin on July 12th and 13th, further showcasing his individual artistry and global presence. Other members have also been actively engaged in various solo music projects, collaborations, and endorsements, maintaining their individual creative outputs and connections with fans during the group's hiatus. This balance of individual and group activities highlights the members' diverse talents and their commitment to both their collective and personal artistic journeys.

The news of BTS's full-group return has ignited a frenzy among their global fanbase, with social media platforms abuzz with excitement and anticipation for what promises to be another monumental chapter in the group's illustrious career. Fans eagerly await further details regarding the new album's concept, release date, and the specifics of the highly anticipated world tour, which is expected to span multiple continents and bring the septet face-to-face with their dedicated ARMYs once again. The announcement underscores BTS's enduring power and influence in the music industry, setting the stage for a triumphant return that will undoubtedly captivate audiences worldwide.
