The 2025 Ulsan Jung-gu Youth Arts Festival is set to be held on Saturday, September 13, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Youth Street in Seongnam-dong. Now in its third year, the festival was organized to celebrate Youth Day, which falls on the third Saturday of September, and to provide a platform for young people to enjoy and showcase their diverse artistic talents.
Under the theme of "Youth Arts & Late Summer Vacation," the festival will feature a wide range of programs. The event will kick off at 3 p.m. with a parade, where a procession of marching bands, performance teams, and participants will circle the city center, offering unique sights for visitors. Following the parade, an official ceremony will be held on the main stage at 4 p.m.
A key highlight of the festival is the performance competition. The nine teams that advanced to the finals will deliver a variety of performances, including band music, dance, and hip-hop. A panel of experts will select and award prizes to nine teams in total, including a grand prize winner.
The festival will also host various exhibitions and interactive zones. The Youth Media Art Fair will showcase photography and short-form videos created by young media professionals. At the Youth Flea Market near Megabox, visitors can browse handmade crafts and pet supplies, or even participate in a soap-making workshop. In a separate "Future Artists' Exhibition," artworks by children whose parents are young adults will be on display.
Other hands-on activities reflecting youth trends will be available, such as making AI character stickers, personal color analysis, making "dalgona" candy, and the "Gym Beginner's Challenge."
Kim Young-gil, the Jung-gu Mayor, expressed his hopes for the event, stating, "I hope this event becomes a platform of opportunity for young artists and a cultural playground for all local residents." He added, "We will continue to develop the Ulsan Jung-gu Youth Arts Festival into a representative youth festival for our region."
