Vietnam and Czech Republic Strengthen Economic Ties as Đà Nẵng Delegation Visits Prague

PRAGUE — In a strategic bid to deepen bilateral economic relations, a high-level delegation from the central Vietnamese city of Đà Nẵng, led by Vice Chairman Phan Thái Bình, concluded a productive working visit to the Czech Republic on Friday. The visit forms part of a broader European mission aimed at boosting international trade, attracting high-quality foreign direct investment (FDI), and forging strategic corporate partnerships between Vietnamese and European enterprises.

The delegation, which comprised officials from municipal departments, representatives from the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone Management Board, and prominent business leaders, held key working sessions with the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade as well as the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic.

Capitalizing on Complementary Strengths

During the sessions, Vice Chairman Phan Thái Bình showcased Đà Nẵng as a dynamic central coastal economic hub with immense development potential. He emphasized the city’s strategic focus on building a modern high-tech industrial base, improving infrastructure, and building robust logistics services capable of supporting complex international supply chains.

Highlighting the strong synergies between the two economies, Bình pointed out that the Czech Republic possesses renowned global expertise across several critical industries:

Advanced Manufacturing & Automation: Precision engineering, electrical systems, and electronics.
Automotive & Supporting Industries: Advanced automotive technologies and component supply chains.
Sustainability & Logistics: Green energy solutions, environmental innovation, and modern transport logistics.
These technological strengths align directly with Đà Nẵng’s priority sectors, opening vast avenues for mutual growth and joint ventures.

Proposal for Dedicated Economic Hubs

A major highlight of the talks was the delegation's proposal to explore the creation of a dedicated Vietnam-Czech Industrial Park or special economic zone within the strategic Chu Lai Open Economic Zone. Such an initiative would offer specialized infrastructure and favorable investment conditions for European enterprises seeking a secure gateway into Southeast Asia.

Furthermore, Vice Chairman Bình expressed hope that Czech business leaders would visit Vietnam during the Czech Prime Minister’s upcoming official visit to explore prospective investments on the ground.

Czech representatives praised Đà Nẵng's proactive initiative and reaffirmed their commitment to actively connect Czech businesses with Vietnamese partners, laying a strong foundation for expanded trade and investment ties in the years ahead.
