Danyang, South Korea – Danyang County, a popular tourist destination in South Korea, has reported a significant increase in visitor satisfaction, according to a recent survey conducted by Consumer Insight, a specialized travel research agency.

The annual summer vacation satisfaction survey, conducted by Consumer Insight since 2016, polled over 25,000 domestic travelers each year. This year's survey involved 17,077 respondents who had taken a domestic vacation of at least one night. The survey evaluated various aspects of the travel experience, including destination satisfaction, recommendation intent, and calculated an overall satisfaction score for each local government unit.

Danyang County ranked eighth nationally with a score of 735 out of 1,000. It was the only city in Chungcheongbuk-do province to rank within the top 10. Notably, Danyang climbed 13 spots compared to its 21st place ranking in the previous year.

Gyeongju City in Gyeongbuk province took the top spot, followed by Sancheong County in Gyeongnam province and Pyeongchang County in Gangwon-do, which tied for second place. Suncheon City in Jeonnam province came in fourth, and Goseong County in Gangwon-do ranked fifth.

Danyang County attributed its improved ranking to various tourism and cultural programs, including incentives for group tourists, familiarization tours, and cultural tour guide services.

“Since 2022, we have been organizing various water sports events such as the ‘Danyang Summer Water Festival,’ Water Sports Academy, and National Yacht Competition to attract more tourists,” said a Danyang County official. “We will also continue to develop various tourist facilities, such as eco-friendly botanical gardens, to attract more visitors to Danyang even during the winter months.”

The significant increase in tourist satisfaction for Danyang County is a testament to its successful tourism initiatives and its growing popularity as a travel destination in South Korea.
