Tucked away in the picturesque coastal region of Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, lies a tranquil escape known as Boksagol Village (복사골마을). This charming rural retreat, literally translating to "Peach Blossom Valley Village," is a perfect destination for foreign travelers seeking an authentic taste of Korean countryside life, stunning natural beauty, and local hospitality.

Boksagol Village isn't just a place to relax; it's an experience centered around its vibrant agricultural heritage, particularly its famed peaches and other seasonal fruits. Visitors can immerse themselves in farm-stay programs, learn about traditional farming methods, and, depending on the season, participate in harvesting activities. The village atmosphere is one of calm and warmth, offering a refreshing contrast to the hustle and bustle of city life. The surrounding hills and clean air contribute to a truly restorative getaway.

Getting There: Address and Directions

To help you find this delightful location, here is the general area information:

Approximate Address: Boksagol Village is located in Namseok-ri, Yeongdeok-eup, Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea.

Note: As a rural experience village, GPS coordinates or the name "Boksagol Village" are often more reliable than a specific street address.

Transportation Tips for Foreign Travelers

Reaching Yeongdeok-gun requires a bit of travel, but the scenic route is well worth it!

By KTX/Train: The fastest route often involves taking the KTX high-speed train from Seoul to a major hub like Dongdaegu Station (East Daegu) or Pohang Station.
From Hub to Yeongdeok:

From Pohang, you can take an intercity bus directly to the Yeongdeok Intercity Bus Terminal (approximately 1 hour).
From Dongdaegu, take an intercity bus to Yeongdeok (approximately 2.5 to 3 hours).
To Boksagol Village: From the Yeongdeok Bus Terminal, the village is a short taxi ride away (around 10-15 minutes). It is advisable to have the village name written in Korean (복사골마을) to show the taxi driver.

Nearby Attractions

While in the area, be sure to explore the breathtaking coastal scenery and other local spots Yeongdeok is famous for:

Ganggu Port (강구항): Yeongdeok is synonymous with snow crab (Daege). Ganggu Port is the best place to sample this delicacy, especially in winter. It's a lively, essential coastal experience.
Samsa Marine Park (삼사해상공원): Offering spectacular views of the East Sea, this park is a wonderful spot for photos, relaxation, and watching the sunrise. It features observation decks, walking paths, and various sculptures.
Chuksan Port and Sunrise Park (축산항 및 해맞이공원): Located along one of Korea's most beautiful coastal roads, this area provides excellent sea views and is a serene spot to enjoy the sunrise over the horizon.
Boksagol Village offers an unforgettable journey into the heart of South Korea's agricultural landscape, promising peace, delicious fruit, and easy access to the stunning East Coast. Don't miss this opportunity to connect with local culture and nature!
