Hangeul Store Expands Sales Channels Beyond Offline to Online and Group Sales

The Hangeul Store, operated by the Sejong City Cultural Tourism Foundation (CEO Park Young-guk), is expanding its sales beyond offline stores to online platforms, diversifying distribution channels for Hangeul cultural goods.

The Hangeul Store is a space that introduces and sells Sejong City’s Hangeul cultural city brand and various Hangeul cultural products to citizens, presenting items that allow people to experience the cultural value of Hangeul in daily life. The offline store is located at 67 Eoulnuri-ro, Units 147–150 (Naseong-dong, Naritjae Complex 2 Commercial Area), Sejong City, and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

The Hangeul Culture City Center of the Foundation recently opened an online Hangeul Store on Naver Smart Store, establishing an online sales foundation where citizens can meet and purchase Hangeul cultural goods regardless of time and place. Through this, the center plans to broaden sales touchpoints—previously centered on the offline store—to the online sphere and enhance accessibility to Hangeul cultural goods.

Group sales targeting institutions, corporations, schools, and organizations will also be expanded. Packages will be curated centering on products carrying Hangeul's cultural value so they can be utilized for various purposes such as event souvenirs, institutional promotional items, and education/experience program memorabilia. Moving forward, the center plans to continuously introduce group-exclusive products and packages reflecting demand and product characteristics.

Efforts will also be made to expand market channels for Hangeul cultural products developed by local youth entrepreneurs and creators. The center plans to discover products with fresh ideas and designs from local creators, linking them from entry into the Hangeul Store to promotion and sales, thereby supporting Hangeul cultural goods created in the region to enter the actual consumer market.

Through these initiatives, the center envisions expanding the Hangeul Store from a simple retail space into a “Hangeul cultural goods platform” that discovers Hangeul cultural goods, connects creators with consumers, and distributes them to various demand sources.

While developing online special exhibitions and seasonal/purpose-specific package products, the center intends to continuously expand listed products and sales channels to broaden the touchpoints between Hangeul cultural goods and diverse demand sources including citizens, institutions, corporations, and schools.

Yang Yoo-jung, Director of the Hangeul Culture City Center, expressed, “We expect the Hangeul Store to grow beyond a space that simply sells Hangeul products into a cultural goods platform that connects creators and citizens, institutions and enterprises through Hangeul as a medium,” adding, “We will continuously support outstanding Hangeul cultural goods so they can be known and consumed by more people through diverse sales channels such as online and group sales.”
