Korean Air has launched a new 'Incheon Airport Preview' service on its mobile app to enhance the convenience of passengers using Incheon International Airport. This service utilizes open API public data from Incheon International Airport Corporation to provide customized information, allowing users to check real-time airport conditions at a glance.

The service's key features are varied. First, it helps passengers efficiently manage their waiting time by showing real-time congestion at departure halls, arrival halls, security checkpoints, and immigration counters. It also provides estimated travel times to the boarding gate from arrival at the airport, broken down by section. Real-time information on the number of available parking spaces on each floor of both long-term and short-term parking lots is also available.

The 'Meet and Greet Request' service, a differentiated feature exclusive to Korean Air, is particularly noteworthy. This function allows passengers to easily share their estimated arrival time and exit information with family or friends via text message or messenger apps, maximizing convenience for those coming to pick them up. In addition, the service provides the location and real-time congestion of Korean Air lounges, helping passengers have a relaxing time before boarding.

The 'Incheon Airport Preview' service automatically links and provides information tailored to the customer's journey. A Korean Air official stated, "We plan to continuously develop digital solutions that meet customer needs to provide a smoother and more efficient travel experience." In this way, Korean Air is going beyond simple air transport to strengthen smart services that prioritize customer convenience from the beginning to the end of their trip.

Glossary: Open API (Open Application Programming Interface)

An API is an interface that defines how applications or services exchange information. Among these, an Open API refers to an API that is publicly available for anyone to use freely. Incheon International Airport Corporation provides various airport data in an open API format, supporting private companies like Korean Air to utilize it to develop new services and improve customer convenience.
