[Global Economic Times] Gimcheon City will hold the 『2024 Gimcheon Kimbap Festival』 in the area of Samyeong Ambassador Park and Eco-Friendly Ecological Park from October 26th to 27th.

This festival has become a hot topic in various media and social media even before the event, and is highly anticipated even though it is the first festival to start.

The city is doing its best to satisfy visitors of various ages and is creating curiosity about the festival by introducing ways to enjoy the festival more happily.

First, use the shuttle bus

To solve the parking problem caused by limited space, the city operates a shuttle bus for 15 minutes to three locations: the Sports Town parking lot, Taehwa Elementary School (closed), and the temporary parking lot on the shoulder of the road going down to Jikjisa Temple.

During the event period, traffic congestion is expected to occur every day from 11:00 to 15:00, and special measures have been established to anticipate that it will take more than 2 hours to park if using your own car.

Second, actively use Kodali Playground (eco-friendly ecological park)

Kodali Playground (Eco-friendly Ecological Park) is a children's event venue prepared for family tourism. Main programs include DJ, random play dance, bubble, magic, and balloon performances, as well as the Kodali maze experience (takes 20 minutes for elementary school students) that can only be found at the Gimcheon Kimbap Festival, the nostalgic arcade (10 types), and air bounce. Sports (4 types) are prepared.

In addition, with the concept of 『Kimbab = Picnic』, there are recreational activities such as towel passing and blue and white flag games where you can feel old memories and nostalgia, and the CU mobile convenience store is also operated, making it a space where you can experience a festival as unique as Kimbap Heaven.

Third, visit on Sunday

The Gimcheon Kimbap Festival is held for two days, Saturday and Sunday. Saturday is expected to attract more tourists than Sunday because there are large and small events nearby, so if you want to enjoy the Kimbap Festival leisurely, we recommend visiting on Sunday.

Fourth, walking along Gimcheon’s 8th scenic spot ‘Jikjisa Maple Tree Road’ & enjoying Gujeolcho Festival

Next to the festival site is Jikjisa Temple, the most famous tourist attraction in Gimcheon. Jikjisa Temple is a temple where Master Samyeong became a monk, and has a maple tree road, one of the eight scenic spots in Gimcheon. At the end of October, it catches the eyes of tourists with beautiful autumn leaves. In addition, the Sayu Forest Gujeolcho Flower Festival is being held until October 31st and is expected to provide a wealth of attractions.

Kim Chung-seop, Mayor of Gimcheon, said, “Thank you for your interest and support for the Gimcheon Kimbab Festival, which is being held for the first time this year.” He added, “Please come on a picnic to Gimcheon, where beautiful autumn leaves and delicious kimbap are in the depths of autumn.”
