Overseas Koreans to Promote K-Food Exports at COEX

Seoul, South Korea – The Overseas Korean Affairs Council will host the “2nd World Korean Business Forum and Export Consultation for K-Food” on November 23rd at COEX Studio 159 in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. This event, co-organized with COEX, aims to facilitate business exchanges between overseas Korean businesspeople and domestic companies.

This marks the second event of its kind, following a similar forum focused on K-Beauty held in Songdo, Incheon, on August 29-30. Notably, the export consultation will coincide with the "2024 COEX Food Week" (the 19th Seoul International Food Industry Exhibition), which begins on November 20th at the same venue, promising a synergistic effect.

Twenty buyers specializing in K-Food from the "Overseas Korean Business Advisory Group (OK BIZ)," established by the Overseas Korean Affairs Council in October, will participate in the event. OK BIZ, a group of overseas Korean business buyers launched following the 22nd World Korean Business Conference (held from October 22-24 at Jeonbuk National University), consists of experts with a deep understanding of overseas markets and businesses.

These advisors will share their firsthand experiences on the morning of November 23rd, discussing import and export trends in major countries like the United States and China, as well as strategies to promote exports for domestic food companies. In the afternoon, they will conduct procurement consultations with domestic companies participating in the "COEX Food Week." Given OK BIZ's overseas distribution networks, the event is expected to boost K-Food exports.
