Daejeon, South Korea – Daejeon City has announced its 2025 Industrial Accident Prevention Plan, aiming to create a safer city for workers. The plan is aligned with the government's support measures for businesses in high-risk sectors and focuses on preventing accidents in the private sector.

Key Strategies

Strengthening Prevention Activities: The city will support safety and health consultations for private businesses and operate a safety and health watchdog program.
Spreading a Culture of Safety: Efforts will be made to raise safety awareness among citizens through campaigns and recognizing exemplary businesses and individuals.
Building Cooperation: The city will collaborate with relevant organizations to enhance safety management.

Initiatives

Safety and Health Consulting: Small businesses with 5 to 50 employees will receive support from private institutions to establish safety management systems and eliminate risk factors.
Safety and Health Watchdogs: Around 20 experts with relevant certifications will visit workplaces to identify and improve potential hazards, as well as provide safety education.
Promotional Activities: The city will conduct campaigns to raise public awareness of safety.
Incentives: Companies and individuals who actively participate in industrial accident prevention will be recognized and rewarded.
Collaboration: The city will operate an Industrial Accident Prevention Committee and work with the Daejeon Employment and Labor Office to develop tailored prevention policies.
