TOKYO, JAPAN – ILLIT(Yoon-a, Min-ju, Mo-ka, Won-hee, I-ro-ha), the rising K-pop sensation, has made a historic impact at the 39th Japan Gold Disc Awards, emerging as the top-awarded K-pop female act. The quintet, comprised of Yoon-a, Min-ju, Mo-ka, Won-hee, and I-ro-ha, garnered significant acclaim for their debut track, "Magnetic," securing prestigious accolades including "Song of the Year by Download (Asia)," "Song of the Year by Streaming (Asia)," and "Best 5 Song by Streaming."

The Japan Gold Disc Awards, a hallmark event since its inception in 1987, honors artists and their works based on comprehensive sales data, encompassing album sales, music video viewership, and digital streaming and download figures, reflecting the past year’s most impactful releases.

ILLIT's "Magnetic" has achieved an extraordinary feat, earning a "Double Platinum" certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) by January, signifying over 200 million accumulated streams. This milestone sets a new benchmark, marking the fastest attainment of this certification for a single by any female group in Japanese music history. This rapid ascent to popularity has firmly established ILLIT as a pivotal force in the 5th generation of K-pop girl groups, highlighted by their multiple wins at this year's Gold Disc Awards.

In their acceptance speeches, the members of ILLIT expressed profound gratitude to their dedicated fanbase, GLLIT, acknowledging their unwavering support as the cornerstone of their success. "We are deeply thankful to our GLLIT for their constant encouragement, which has enabled us to achieve these remarkable results. Your love means everything to us," the group stated.

The Japan Gold Disc Awards further cement ILLIT’s growing influence in the Japanese music market. Adding to their impressive record, the group previously received the "Rookie Award" at the Japan Record Awards, a significant achievement that broke a 13-year drought for K-pop girl groups in this category. Moreover, this win was groundbreaking as ILLIT achieved it before officially releasing a full album in Japan, highlighting their immediate impact and widespread appeal.

ILLIT’s rapid rise to prominence is not just a testament to their musical talent but also to their strategic approach to engaging with international audiences. Their blend of catchy melodies, dynamic choreography, and relatable charm has resonated strongly with fans across Asia and beyond. As they continue to break records and garner accolades, ILLIT is poised to become a leading force in the global music scene, bridging cultural boundaries and setting new standards for K-pop artistry.
