BOYNEXTDOOR, the dynamic K-pop group consisting of Seongho, Riu, Myeongjaehyeon, Taesan, Ihan, and Unhak, has achieved a significant milestone by winning the 'Best 3 New Artist' award in the Asian category at the prestigious 39th Japan Gold Disc Grand Award. This accolade, presented by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) on March 12th, marks their first win at this esteemed ceremony, underscoring their burgeoning popularity in the Japanese music market.

"Receiving this award, which can only be achieved once in a lifetime, is truly an honor," expressed BOYNEXTDOOR. "We will cherish this moment and take great pride in it. We are committed to growing even further as artists and giving back the love and support we have received."

The Japan Gold Disc Grand Award, established in 1987, recognizes artists and works that have significantly contributed to the development of the Japanese recording industry. 1  Winners are selected based on comprehensive sales data, including CD and music video sales, digital downloads, streaming revenue, and streaming play counts, all compiled by the RIAJ.

BOYNEXTDOOR's rapid ascent in Japan is evident. Prior to their official Japanese debut, they garnered attention by gracing the covers of prominent magazines and performing at major festivals. Their Japanese debut single, "AND," released last year, achieved "platinum" certification by shipping over 250,000 copies within a month, according to the Gold Disc standards (as of July 2024). Furthermore, their digital single "I LOVE YOU Only Today," released in January, peaked at number 14 on Billboard Japan's "Streaming Songs" chart (January 13-19 tracking period), setting a new record for a fifth-generation K-pop boy group.

Their first solo tour, "BOYNEXTDOOR TOUR 'KNOCK ON Vol.1,'" further cemented their popularity, with all 12 shows across six Japanese cities selling out immediately upon ticket release. This overwhelming demand highlights their strong connection with Japanese fans and their ability to captivate live audiences.

Following their successful Japanese tour, BOYNEXTDOOR is now embarking on an Asian tour, demonstrating their growing regional influence. The tour will take them to six major cities: Singapore (March 15th), Manila (March 22nd), Bangkok (March 29th), Taipei (April 3rd), Hong Kong (April 6th), and concluding in Jakarta (April 12th). This extensive tour signifies their commitment to connecting with fans across Asia and expanding their global footprint.

BOYNEXTDOOR's recent achievements, including the Japan Gold Disc Grand Award, underscore their rising prominence in the competitive K-pop landscape. Their blend of youthful energy, catchy music, and engaging performances continues to resonate with fans worldwide, positioning them as a leading force in the next generation of K-pop artists.
