- 110,000 Visitors Attracted to Stay-and-Enjoy Festival; Record-High Sales of 18,525 Boxes
- Helicopter Ride Experience and Water Play Facilities Receive Enthusiastic Response; Meticulous Heatwave Safety Measures Highlighted

The "24th Sejong Jochiwon Peach Festival," which turned the entire city of Sejong into a hub of excitement centered around the 118-year tradition of Sejong Jochiwon peaches, recorded a total of 110,000 visitors, reconfirming its reputation as the city's representative summer festival.

Aiming to be a stay-and-enjoy festival where visitors could experience everything about Jochiwon peaches from day to night, this year's event featured a rich lineup of sales booths, performances, hands-on activities, local food, and night content.

Jochiwon peaches, renowned every year for their high sugar content and outstanding quality, saw their entire available stock sold out once again, bringing smiles to participating farming households.

In particular, a variety of experiential programs received enthusiastic responses from citizens of all ages, ranging from water play facilities that helped beat the scorching summer heat to newly introduced helicopter ride experiences and LED wish lantern releases.

Record-Breaking Peach Sales in History

During the festival period, a total of 18,525 boxes of peaches (worth approximately 445 million KRW) were sold at the special sales exhibition.

In addition to sales by individual farmers, unifying most of the sales channel under the Jochiwon Agricultural Cooperative to strengthen quality control was pointed out as the secret behind the complete sell-out.

Fitting for a stay-and-enjoy festival, operational measures to enhance visitor convenience also drew positive feedback, including a free storage facility where guests could leave their purchased peaches while enjoying the event, as well as a delivery service using electric carts.

The city analyzed that the festival not only contributed to activating the local economy and boosting farmers' practical income, but also served as an opportunity to further elevate the brand value of Jochiwon peaches.

Festival Cools Down Summer Heat with Meticulous Safety Measures

At the water play facilities set up in Dodori Park—including water slides, water pools, and toddler pools—family visitors gathered for three straight days, making them the best attractions to escape the heat.

Interactive programs centered around peaches also gained strong traction, such as the "Peach Water Gun Battle," the "118m Peach Rice Cake Pulling," and the "Peach Fruit Punch Sharing."

At the "Peach Beer Night," which extended its operating hours until 11 p.m., a record-breaking number of visitors came to enjoy Jochiwon fried chicken and beer alongside performances by DJs and famous singers, heating up the summer night.

The city made dedicated efforts to operate thorough safety measures so that citizens could enjoy the festival safely despite the heatwave, deploying air-conditioned shelters, shade canopies, cooling fog systems, and water purifiers, while providing bottled water, fans, and free parasol rentals.

A field response system operated in close collaboration with the police, fire department, and medical institutions was also actively maintained around the clock, successfully wrapping up the event without any safety incidents.

Mayor Cho Sang-ho stated, "This festival successfully concluded as Sejong's flagship summer event created jointly by citizens, tourists, and agricultural workers, enriched with well-organized new programs. Moving forward, we will continue to discover differentiated content to develop it beyond a regional agricultural produce festival into a premier national cultural tourism festival."
