Gyeongju, South Korea – Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) has officially partnered with Gyeongsangbuk-do Province and Gyeongju City to ensure the successful hosting of the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit. The collaboration, formalized through a comprehensive Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), outlines KHNP's significant contributions, including the establishment of an XR (eXtended Reality) Mobility Bus and the provision of accommodation at its Dongcheon staff complex for summit support personnel.
The signing ceremony took place on June 16th at KHNP headquarters, bringing together key representatives from all three entities. This strategic alliance underscores a concerted effort to leverage the APEC Summit as a catalyst for regional development and a global showcase for South Korea's advanced technological capabilities and rich cultural heritage.
Under the terms of the agreement, KHNP has pledged 500 million won (approximately $360,000 USD) towards the development and deployment of the state-of-the-art XR Mobility Bus. This innovative vehicle is designed to be a mobile exhibition space, seamlessly integrating cutting-edge energy technology with captivating cultural and tourism content. During the summit, the XR Mobility Bus will offer a unique and immersive experience for visiting heads of state, delegates, and international media.
