Taiwanese Tourism Industry Experiences the Charm of Chungnam

Chungcheongnam-do Province and the Chungnam Cultural Tourism Foundation hosted a two-day familiarization tour (Fam Tour) on the 19th and 20th for Taiwanese travel agencies and media representatives to actively promote major tourist attractions within the province.

In celebration of the "Year of Central Region Tourism" declared by the Korea Tourism Organization, the province organized this preliminary inspection tour to support the development of new South Korea-bound travel products by the Taiwanese tourism industry and to increase local interest in central region tourism, including Chungnam.

A total of about 20 participants, including representatives from Taiwanese travel agencies and media, joined the tour and explored major tourism resources in the Gongju area. Key destinations included historical and cultural landmarks such as Gongju Sanseong Market, Gongju National Museum, Na Tae-ju Alley, Gongju Hanok Village, and Gongsanseong Fortress.

Through this visit, Taiwanese tourism professionals had the opportunity to encounter various historical legacies, including Baekje culture and Hallyu (Korean Wave) culture, while also enjoying diverse culinary experiences such as desserts made with Gongju’s specialty, chestnuts.

Additionally, on the 20th, the province, along with the Chungnam Cultural Tourism Foundation, Ramada Encore by Wyndham Cheonan, and the Boryeong Festival & Tourism Foundation, participated in a business-to-business (B2B) travel product consultation session held in Sejong. During the event, they introduced the province’s tourism resources to Taiwanese media and travel agencies and discussed product development.

A provincial official stated, "As the Taiwanese tourism industry has directly experienced the diverse charms of Gongju, the heart of Baekje culture, through this event, we look forward to the active development of Chungnam travel products by local agencies. We will continue to cooperate to ensure this leads to actual visits from Taiwanese tourists."
