Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra, Gwangju City Changgeuk Company Invited for Exchange Performance

A Harmony of Tradition and Modernity Presented Through the Creative Changgeuk 'Cheonbyeonmanhwa (千變萬化)'

The Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra is hosting an inter-city exchange performance, , on Wednesday, July 2nd, at 7:30 PM at the Main Stage of the Daejeon Yeonjeong Korean Traditional Music Center, with the Gwangju City Changgeuk Company as invited guests.

This performance is part of the Yeonjeong Korean Traditional Music Center's 10th-anniversary celebration. It was planned to introduce outstanding works through exchanges with traditional Korean music groups from other regions and to provide citizens with diverse traditional performance content.

'Cheonbyeonmanhwa' is a stage that blends creative changgeuk and traditional dance, and it is one of the representative works of the Gwangju City Changgeuk Company. The diverse repertoire includes , which starts with the beauty of restrained court dance and the excitement of folk dance, followed by the one-act changgeuk , which portrays Shim Cheong's filial piety,  which is based on Hyangga, and , which expresses the changes of the four seasons through a grand drum performance.

Tickets are 10,000 won for all seats and can be reserved through the Daejeon Yeonjeong Korean Traditional Music Center website (www.daejeon.go.kr/kmusic) and Interpark (NOL, nol.interpark.com).
