A vessel owned by the South Korean shipping company Sinokor Merchant Marine, passing through the Strait of Hormuz, has reportedly been attacked.

The Financial Times (FT) reported on the 1st (local time), citing maritime security analysts, that the Sinokor-owned oil tanker Senegal Prosperity and a Saudi Arabian-owned tanker, the Sidr, were attacked.

However, analysts noted that the identities of the ships have not been officially confirmed due to limited telecommunications networks in the Gulf region.

The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) also announced in a notice on the same day that an oil tanker was struck by three unidentified projectiles.

While the organization did not disclose the name of the vessel, it stated that the attacked ship was transiting through the route closest to the Omani coast.

Meanwhile, this attack comes amid a backdrop of mutual airstrikes exchanged between the United States and Iran.
