Chungcheongnam-do is launching efforts to attract foreign tourists by showcasing the province's diverse tourism charms—ranging from Baekje history and culture to marine leisure and gourmet food—to Taiwan's travel industry.

The province announced on the 28th that the Chungcheong Region Tourism Promotion Council (Chungnam, Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungbuk) is hosting a 5-night, 6-day tourism promotion fam tour for 20 invited guests, including local Taiwanese travel industry figures and officials from the Korea Tourism Organization’s Taipei Office, from August 27 to September 1.

This event was organized to jointly introduce the major tourism resources, gourmet food, and experiential contents of the four cities and provinces in the Chungcheong region to the Taiwan travel industry, and to support the development of regional tourism products linking local resources.

Within the province, a welcome reception was held at Lotte Resort Buyeo on the 27th to introduce major tourism resources of the Chungcheong region, including Chungnam, as well as the 2027 Nonsan World Strawberry Industry Expo.

In addition, discussions were held with Taiwanese travel officials on establishing networks and cooperative measures to develop tourism products and attract overseas tourists.

On the 28th, an itinerary was carried out centered around Buyeo and Boryeong, allowing participants to directly experience the province's history, culture, marine leisure, and gourmet tourism contents.

Participants took a hot air balloon in Buyeo to view the natural scenery, followed by a tour of the Baekje Cultural Complex to experience the charm of Baekje's history and culture.

They then moved to Boryeong to visit the Gaehwa Art Park, and experienced signature marine leisure tourism contents such as the zipline and rail bike at Daecheon Beach.

Furthermore, they visited the Daecheon Laver (Seaweed) factory to tour the production process and sample it firsthand, exploring the potential for developing gourmet tourism contents utilizing local specialties.

A provincial official stated, "Through this fam tour, we were able to directly showcase the province's diverse tourism charms to Taiwanese travel officials. We will continue to cooperate with the Taiwan travel industry so that our province's tourism resources can lead to the actual development of tourism products and the attraction of foreign tourists."

Meanwhile, the event will continue through the regions of Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungbuk until September 1st.

Participants are scheduled to experience representative tourism resources in each region, including the Shinsegae Aquarium, Daejeon Travel Lounge, and Sungsimdang Street in the old downtown of Daejeon; Bear Tree Park, the Presidential Archives, and the Geumgang Eungdari Night View in Sejong; and Beopjusa Temple in Boeun, the Gugak Experience Village in Yeongdong, and a wine farm in Chungbuk, before departing through Cheongju International Airport.
