The Gyeongbuk Fire Headquarters announced that the Gyeongsan Fire Station team, representing Gyeongbuk province, was selected as the national #1 "Best Team" at the "2026 Simulation Tactics Training Best Team Selection Competition." The competition was hosted by the National Fire Agency and held for three days starting on the 21st.
A total of 19 representative teams from provincial and municipal fire headquarters across the country participated in this competition. Each team was evaluated on their team-level firefighting tactical capabilities—including situational judgment, decision-making, tactical operation, radio communication control, firefighter safety management, and crisis response—while communicating via radio in virtual fire scenarios set in apartment complexes and multi-use facilities.

Based on scenarios reflecting actual field characteristics, the evaluation also focused heavily on response capabilities to unexpected situations that can occur in real disasters, such as firefighter isolation, uninterrupted fire water supply, and multiple casualties.
The Gyeongsan Fire Station team secured first place nationwide by rapidly responding to unexpected situations and effectively executing tactics through organic collaboration among team members.
Seong Ho-sun, head of the Gyeongbuk Fire Headquarters, remarked, "It is a meaningful achievement that Gyeongbuk Fire's organic collaboration system between initial response units and command units, as well as our field response capabilities, were recognized in this competition. Moving forward, we will continue our simulation tactics training to respond swiftly and systematically to any disaster, thereby protecting the safety of our residents."
