Chungcheongnam-do has taken a bold step toward solidifying its position as a vibrant startup hub by hosting the opening ceremony of the "2026 Everyone’s Startup Festival in Chungnam, NEXT STAGE" on September 15 at the Yu Gwan-sun Gymnasium in Cheonan. Co-hosted by Chungcheongnam-do and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS), and organized by the Chungnam Creative Economy Innovation Center, this two-day festival is designed to bridge the gap between the metropolitan capital region and non-metropolitan areas while fostering a self-sustaining regional startup ecosystem.

The opening ceremony drew approximately 150 key participants, including officials from the provincial government, the Chungnam Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration, startup founders, investors, academic institutions, and related organizations. Together, they gathered to celebrate new entrepreneurial challenges and encourage sustainable corporate growth. Under the core slogan "START HERE, GROW NEXT – Start with anyone, grow further," the festival aims to accommodate everyone from aspiring entrepreneurs to scaling enterprises, providing them with platforms to discover new opportunities.

To fulfill this mission, the event features a diverse array of programs running through September 16. These include Investor Relations (IR) pitch sessions, large and medium-sized enterprise open innovation meetups, startup club pitching competitions, one-on-one consulting booths, and exhibitions showcasing outstanding regional startups. By gathering these programs under one roof, the festival creates an organic networking environment where innovative ideas can meet practical capital and mentorship.

A major highlight following the opening ceremony was the "Everyone’s Startup" panel talk. Representatives from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, startup ecosystem builders, mentors, and program participants engaged in an open discussion. They shared real-world experiences, addressed field challenges, and explored how anyone with a creative idea can embark on an entrepreneurial journey. This session emphasized the national and regional policy direction of lowering barriers to entry for prospective founders.

In addition to domestic insights, the festival incorporated a global session featuring representatives from the San Francisco startup ecosystem. These global experts shared valuable experiences and strategic insights from international startup hubs, discussing pathways for local Chungnam startups to expand overseas and integrate into the global market. This international dimension highlights Chungnam’s ambition to transcend regional limits and foster globally competitive enterprises.

Looking forward, Chungcheongnam-do plans to leverage this festival to tightly interweave regional industries, universities, research institutes, investment firms, and startup support agencies. By reinforcing the entire lifecycle of corporate development—from initial incubation to active scaling—the province aims to establish itself as a premier national powerhouse for innovation.
