Asunción, Paraguay – Construction of the Bioceanic Bridge connecting Paraguay and Brazil is progressing smoothly, with the project now 62% complete.

Paraguay's Minister of Public Works, Claudia Centurión, and Chile's Minister of Public Works, Jessica López, visited the construction site on Wednesday to inspect the progress.

Minister Centurión emphasized that "this project has the strong support of regional leaders and is a crucial undertaking that will connect Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, and Chile." She further projected that upon completion, the bridge will open up the shortest route between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, injecting new vitality into the regional economy.

Minister López expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "This project is making the long-held dream of connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans a reality." She highlighted that Chilean ports will become crucial hubs, significantly reducing transportation costs and time for goods destined for the East.

Additional features: Suicide prevention barriers, capacity for heavy loads, unique pillar design symbolizing both countries
Currently, construction of a 3.8-kilometer access road is underway in the Carmelo Peralta area of Paraguay, while approximately 13 kilometers of road construction is planned in the Puerto Murtinho region of Brazil.

This bridge construction project is expected to significantly improve transportation and logistics infrastructure in South America and contribute to regional economic development.
