The city held a kick-off meeting on April 17th at the City Hall's conference room to initiate the '2026~2030 Cheonan Tourism Development Master Plan' project.

This ambitious undertaking aims to establish a strategic foundation and chart the course for Cheonan's tourism sector over the next five years. The overarching goal is to position Cheonan as a central hub for tourism in South Korea, focusing on three core directions:

Heritage: Reinterpreting historical and cultural resources as key tourism elements.
Urban: Strengthening future tourism competitiveness through smart technologies and transportation infrastructure.

The master plan will focus on three major strategic goals encompassing eight key tasks. These include developing tourism content that reflects the city's unique identity and values, strengthening the tourism infrastructure to prepare for the future, and building a sustainable tourism ecosystem.

Cheonan plans to develop an integrated tourism strategy that organically links the city's overall policies, including history, culture, arts, transportation, and industry, with tourism at its core. This will be achieved by incorporating the latest tourism trends and big data analysis.
