Embark on a Unique Day at a Living Folk Museum: Immerse in Traditional Culture and Abundant Sights

Nestled in Songak-myeon, Asan City, Chungcheongnam-do, the picturesque Oeam Folk Village stands as a living testament to 500 years of history. Home to approximately 60 households of the Yean Yi clan who have steadfastly preserved their traditional way of life, this village offers a profound encounter with history and timeless traditions at every turn. As part of the "My Hometown Rural Summer Campaign" presented by operating company Baba Ground in collaboration with the Korea Rural Community Corporation, Oeam Folk Village invites urban dwellers to embark on a special time travel program, promising unforgettable memories for the whole family.

A Journey Through Joseon Dynasty: Discover Diverse Cultural Heritage and Experiences

Oeam Folk Village proudly showcases a rich tapestry of cultural heritage that vividly evokes the atmosphere of the Joseon Dynasty. Oeam Hakdang, once a central hub for learning and education, now exhibits invaluable materials that offer insights into the educational practices of the era. The Folk Art Museum provides visitors with a captivating cultural experience, displaying the exquisite beauty of traditional Korean folk art. Notably, the well-preserved traditional houses transport visitors back in time, serving as remarkable sites for historical education. At the heart of the village stands a majestic 600-year-old Zelkova tree, steeped in legends of love, promises, and diligence dating back to the Goryeo Dynasty, adding a layer of profound significance to this historical site.

Igniting Curiosity and Imagination: A Living Realm of Historical Education

While the scientific feasibility of time travel remains elusive, the experience at Oeam Folk Village offers a strikingly authentic sensation of stepping into the past, fostering a deep and tangible understanding of history. For children, this visit provides a precious educational opportunity to witness firsthand the daily life of the Joseon era, far beyond the pages of textbooks. Through the architecture of traditional houses, everyday tools, and the stories woven into the fabric of the village, history transforms from a dry subject of memorization into an engaging realm of exploration.

A Festival of Traditional Culture: Engaging All Five Senses with Diverse Activities

Oeam Folk Village offers a plethora of hands-on programs that allow visitors to immerse themselves in Korean traditional culture. Donning the elegant Hanbok and strolling through the village creates an unforgettable memory, while participating in traditional craft workshops offers the rewarding experience of creating personalized souvenirs. Furthermore, enjoying or learning to play traditional folk instruments enhances understanding and appreciation for Korea's unique musical heritage. The traditional markets and shops surrounding the village provide opportunities to explore and purchase local specialties and handcrafted items, and savoring the flavors of regional cuisine is an unmissable delight.

A Time Travel Package Overflowing with Benefits

Participants of the "Oeam Folk Village Time Travel" program will receive a "Time Travel Package" designed to enhance their experience. This package includes the opportunity to try on beautiful Hanbok, create unique Hanji (traditional Korean paper) tree lamps, and indulge in a sweet Yeot (Korean taffy) making experience. Additionally, the first 300 participants will have the chance to sample Oeam Village Yeonyeopju, Asan's renowned traditional rice wine and Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 11, adding an extra layer of cultural immersion. The participation fee is 40,000 KRW per person, with potential discounts of up to 50% available through the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs voucher program, making this exceptional experience even more accessible.

Convenient Accessibility: An Ideal Weekend Family Getaway

Oeam Folk Village is conveniently located within a 2-hour drive from the Seoul metropolitan area. For those using public transportation, a SoCar rental from KTX Cheonan-Asan Station offers a swift and easy connection, making it an ideal destination for a day trip. Operating on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, this program provides the perfect opportunity for families to spend a weekend exploring history and culture, creating cherished memories together.

Heo Jeong, CEO of Baba Ground, stated, "We hope that all visitors to Oeam Folk Village will not only enjoy sightseeing but also discover the genuine charm of the region and leave with special memories. We anticipate that this campaign will inject positive vitality into the Chungcheongnam-do region."

Why not embark on a special time travel adventure with your family to the beautiful Oeam Folk Village in Asan, a place where 500 years of history reside? It promises to be a precious experience of learning and enjoyment amidst a living historical landscape.
