Hosting the '2026 Gyeongbuk Apple Promotion Event' for 3 Days from November 2 to 4
Featuring exhibition and discounted sales of premium apples from 14 major production regions along with various colorful events

Gyeongsangbuk-do is holding the '2026 Gyeongbuk Apple Promotion Event' at Seoul Plaza from November 2 to 4 to boost consumption in the greater Seoul metropolitan area.

At the venue, sales booths operated by 14 apple-producing regions in the province and the Daegyeong Apple Horticultural Agricultural Cooperative will offer discounted sales of Gyeongbuk apples and processed apple beverages. For consumers who have difficulty visiting the site in person, special discount sales are also being held on 'Saiso,' the online agricultural and specialty products shopping mall.

Marking its 21st anniversary this year, the event is held under the theme, "Gyeongbuk Apples: The Most Brilliant Fruit Chosen by the Autumn Kingdom." It is co-hosted by the provincial government and the Council of Mayors and County Governors of Apple-Producing Regions, and organized by the Daegyeong Apple Horticultural Agricultural Cooperative.

The 'Gyeongbuk Apple Premium Hall' introduces representative and new apple varieties from the 14 production areas in the province. Photo zones, including an apple tunnel and inflatable air sculptures, have also been set up so visitors can take commemorative photos and promote Gyeongbuk apples via social networking services (SNS).

Additional programs include 'K-Office Worker Real Life Escape Apple Time' tailored for nearby office workers during lunchtime, the 'Gyeongbuk Apple Royal Garden Children's Drawing Contest' for preschoolers and elementary students, folk-rock duo band performances, and 'Apple Kingdom Tower Stacking.'

The opening ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. on the 3rd. Approximately 950 people are expected to attend, including Yang Geum-hee, Vice Governor for Economic Affairs of Gyeongsangbuk-do; Kim Sang-baek, Vice Chairman of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Committee of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Council; members of the National Assembly; mayors and county heads of Gyeongbuk apple-producing regions; Seo Byeong-jin, Head of the Daegyeong Apple Horticultural Agricultural Cooperative; prominent figures away from hometown; and apple-producing farmers.

Pre-ceremony performances will precede the opening ceremony. The main event will proceed in the order of a declaration of the opening, welcoming and encouraging remarks, congratulatory speeches, a commemorative performance, and a tour of the exhibition venue.

Following the official ceremony, the 'Farmers' One-Mind Festival' will be held to encourage and honor the hard work of apple growers. It will feature lucky draw events by city and county from the 14 production areas, followed by celebratory performances.

"I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the farming households who produced apples with utmost dedication despite suffering great damage and difficulties from the mega wildfire last year," said Yang Geum-hee, Vice Governor for Economic Affairs of Gyeongsangbuk-do. "We hope this event will serve as an opportunity to directly showcase the outstanding taste and quality of Gyeongbuk apples to consumers, and that this interest and trust will lead to continuous purchases."

She added, "We kindly ask citizens to visit Seoul Plaza to enjoy various exhibitions and experiences, and to send plenty of interest and love to Gyeongbuk apples."
