Hyundai Motor Rises to Global Top Tier, Ranks 33rd in TIME's 'World's Best Companies 2025'

Hyundai Motor Company has dramatically affirmed its heightened international competitiveness by securing the 33rd position in TIME magazine's recent "World's Best Companies 2025" evaluation. This ranking is a significant leap for the automaker, which climbed 159 spots from 192nd place in 2024, making it the highest-ranked Korean company and the sole Korean firm in the top 100.

Notably, Hyundai Motor has also surpassed Japanese rival Toyota (48th) to claim the leading position among all Asian finished vehicle manufacturers.

The "World's Best Companies" ranking, which has been compiled annually since 2023 in collaboration with German global data firm Statista, evaluates the world's top 1,000 companies based on a balanced aggregation of three key metrics: employee satisfaction, corporate growth rate, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) performance.

Hyundai's remarkable ascent is attributed to a combination of strong global employee satisfaction and robust financial performance. In 2024, the company achieved its highest-ever internal employee job satisfaction score of 79.4 points, with a voluntary turnover rate of just 0.39%, one of the lowest among Korean corporations.

The automaker's recent financial results further underscore its trajectory. Over the past three years, its revenue has surged by approximately 23%, from 142 trillion won in 2022 to 175 trillion won in 2024. Operating profit witnessed an even steeper rise, expanding by about 45%, from 9.8 trillion won to 14.2 trillion won, driven by an improved product mix favoring high-value models and an aggressive expansion of its eco-friendly vehicle strategy.

In terms of ESG, Hyundai Motor is actively pursuing its 2045 carbon neutrality vision. This includes signing large-scale renewable energy purchase agreements in major operational regions like Korea, the US, and India, and systematically implementing its RE100 goal to transition all business sites to 100% renewable energy.

A Hyundai Motor official stated, "This evaluation is deeply meaningful as it confirms the company's sustainability and competitiveness by a highly trusted external institution. It is expected to contribute positively to strengthening investor confidence and brand awareness."

Globally, the 2025 ranking saw Nvidia take the overall top spot, followed by Microsoft at second place. The strength of AI-related companies was evident, while last year's number one, Apple, fell out of the top 1000 due to lower revenue growth.
