Jeonbuk Culture and Tourism Foundation Brings Arts and Sharing to Muju Senior Community

Muju, South Korea — The Jeonbuk Culture and Tourism Foundation (CEO Baek Ok-sun) announced on November 3 that its staff members successfully hosted a community service program at the Muju National Sports Center, offering traditional craft experiences and sharing side dishes with local senior citizens.

Designed to strengthen community ties through the arts and promote a corporate culture of giving, this initiative follows a similar volunteer program previously held in Sunchang.

Collaborating with the Jeonbuk Volunteer Center and the Muju-gun Volunteer Center, the Foundation operated an interactive workshop where participants crafted greeting cards using jogakbo (traditional Korean patchwork) made from leftover hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) fabric.

By repurposing scrap materials that would otherwise be discarded, the activity integrated sustainable practices with artistic creation, embodying the Foundation's commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management. Foundation staff guided the seniors as they arranged fabric pieces to create unique handmade cards, allowing them to experience the joy of artistic expression and connect with traditional craftsmanship.

In addition to the craft workshop, the staff participated in preparing and distributing side dishes, sharing warm moments and care with the older residents.

This volunteer effort highlighted the Foundation's unique approach to community service by blending its professional expertise in culture and arts with social responsibility.

"We hope this program brought a spark of joy and creativity to the daily lives of our local seniors," said CEO Baek Ok-sun. "The Foundation remains dedicated to bridging arts, culture, and community sharing to foster ongoing engagement with local neighborhoods."
