During the upcoming Chuseok holiday (September 24–27), the 2026 Yeosu World Island Fair Organizing Committee announced that the main venue will host a variety of participatory performances and events prepared through the talents and warm hearts of Yeosu citizens.

Following the "Boim Day" event on September 19, local support for the Expo has been continuously growing. Local artists are holding performances, painters are donating their artwork, and cafes are offering free coffee. Rather than monetary donations, citizens are sharing what they have. This collective effort is driven by the sentiment: "Yeosu raised us, so now it is our turn to protect Yeosu."

Key Chuseok Programs & Events

"Island Island Picnic Show" (Daily): Welcoming visitors are the "Picnic Welcome Show," "Picnic Performance Show," and "Picnic Busker Show" held over the four-day holiday. Notably, special busker performances, as well as drum and trumpet shows, are performed pro bono by local artists. The program features clowns, performance teams, a comic participatory street show during lunchtime, photo sessions, Dasomi dance time, and a magic show enjoyed by all ages.
Citizens Contributing Art and Coffee: Renowned Yeosu artist Kang Jong-yeol donated 12 limited-edition prints of the "10 Scenic Views of Yeosu" (valued at approximately 1 million won each), which will be used for special visitor events during the holiday. Additionally, Musulsori Cafe in Dolsan, Yeosu, will hand out free beverage tickets to the first 100 visitors from 10:00 AM on September 24 and 26, joining in to wish for the success of the Expo.
Expanded Free Admission Targets: To make it easier for families to visit together, free admission is extended throughout the four-day holiday for:

3-Generation Families (Grandparents, parents, and children)
Visitors wearing Hanbok (Traditional Korean clothing)
Children under 12 (Along with up to 2 accompanying guardians)
Holiday Parades, Night Activities, and K-Pop Concert

Parades & Experiences: Performance shows will tour the Expo grounds 3 times a day on September 24, 26, and 27. On Chuseok Day (September 25), a parade and character show featuring a percussion band will take place twice in the afternoon. Dasomi truck events will reward treasure-hunting visitors daily, while the "Wish Boat" experience (floating LED boats with written wishes in the island theme zone waterway) will run every evening from 6:30 PM. The "Find the Treasure" event will also run across four exhibition halls.
Stage Performances & K-Pop Concert:

Musical & Cultural Shows: The fusion gukak madang musical "Baekdo Yuramgi" will be staged on September 24–25, alongside traditional dance performances from East Timor (Sept 24) and the Philippines (Sept 27). A dance and EDM night show will light up September 25, followed by a martial arts/historical dance drama on September 26.
K-Pop Concert (Sept 26): On the evening of September 26, a major K-Pop concert featuring QWER, ONEWE, and Cherry Filter will heat up the main venue's open stage. Visitors can attend with standard admission or the night ticket (8,000 KRW for adults, entering after 5:00 PM). Visitors who came during the day can also re-enter until 8:30 PM using a confirmation stamp. The organizing committee plans to strengthen temporary parking, shuttle buses, and crowd control for the concert day.

About the Fair

An organizing committee official stated, "Local artists and merchants are filling the holiday Expo venue in their own unique ways. We will continue to upgrade our programs even after Chuseok to reward this warmth."

The 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo runs until November 4 under the theme "The Island, Connecting the Sea and the Future" across the main venue in Dolsan Jinmo District, the Yeosu World Expo venue, Gaedo, and Geumodo.
