At the 9th Harbin Asian Winter Games, which concluded on the 14th, the South Korean national team solidified its position as a winter sports powerhouse by securing second place overall. Behind this remarkable achievement was the effort of the 2018 PyeongChang Memorial Foundation (Chairman Yoo Seung-min, President-elect of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee and former IOC member), which discovers and supports athletes through the Olympic legacy project.

The foundation is running the 'Play Winter' campaign to revitalize winter sports by utilizing the legacy of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. It is playing a leading role in the development and expansion of winter sports in Korea by actively supporting the growth of promising athletes who dream of becoming national representatives, while also providing opportunities for the general public, who have difficulty experiencing winter sports, to experience Olympic venues.

In this Harbin Winter Asian Games, 7 athletes who participated in 'Sports Academy', a promising player development program of Play Winter, were selected as national representatives and performed well.
