Maersk, a global leader in integrated logistics, has announced the opening of a new, highly automated warehouse in Denain, northern France. This strategic move is designed to bolster the company's presence in Europe's e-commerce market and enhance its contract logistics capabilities.

The 75,000 square-meter facility, part of GLP Park Denain, is ideally situated to serve major European markets. Equipped with advanced technology and a prime location near Lille, the warehouse is poised to provide efficient order fulfillment services for leading e-commerce companies.

"We are excited to open this new warehouse in Denain, which significantly enhances our ability to serve our customers in Europe," said Vincent Clerc, CEO of Ocean & Logistics at Maersk. "This investment underscores our commitment to providing innovative and sustainable supply chain solutions."

Key features of the new warehouse include:

Strategic location: Situated near major highways and waterways, providing excellent connectivity to European markets.
Advanced automation: Equipped with automated guided vehicles and other technologies to optimize operations.
Sustainability: BREEAM Very Good certified, reflecting Maersk's commitment to environmental sustainability.
The opening of the Denain warehouse comes as Maersk continues to invest in its global warehousing network. The company has been actively expanding its contract logistics and warehousing business, aiming to provide end-to-end supply chain solutions to its customers.

While Maersk has not officially named any customers for the new facility, reports suggest that Amazon will be a major tenant. This partnership highlights the growing importance of e-commerce in the logistics industry and Maersk's ability to meet the evolving needs of its customers.

With the addition of the Denain warehouse, Maersk now operates facilities in 15 European countries, further strengthening its position as a leading provider of global supply chain solutions.
