Busan's Seven Bridge Tour to be Held in September, Offering Unique Cycling Experience on Ocean Bridges

The '2025 Seven Bridge Tour,' an event where participants cycle across Busan's major ocean bridges and through underground tunnels, will be held on September 21. The Busan Metropolitan City held a kick-off meeting on the 4th, stating that this event will establish itself as a unique urban brand asset for Busan, a marine city.

Event Overview and Course

The Seven Bridge Tour is a non-competitive cycling tour event, featuring a 77km circular course that encompasses four ocean bridges, two underground tunnels, and one regular tunnel. The course starts at BEXCO in Haeundae-gu, passes through Gwangandaegyo Bridge, Sinseondae Underpass, Busan Harbor Bridge, Namhang Bridge, Cheonma Tunnel, Jangpyeong Underpass, Eulsukdo Bridge, and Maekdo Ecological Park, before returning to Gwangandaegyo Bridge. Notably, on the morning of the event, vehicle traffic on the course will be completely controlled, offering a special opportunity to cycle on ocean bridges that are normally inaccessible to bicycles as they are exclusive to vehicles. This is expected to be an excellent chance to fully enjoy Busan's beautiful maritime scenery from a bicycle.

Diverse Side Events and Participation Programs

Beyond being just a cycling event, the Seven Bridge Tour will offer a variety of participatory programs for the general public and tourists. On the morning of the event, the upper deck of Gwangandaegyo Bridge will be opened for free, allowing citizens to freely stroll across the bridge and admire Busan's panoramic views. In addition, parades and thrilling BMX performances will be held to heighten the festive atmosphere.

Furthermore, a culinary event will be held in conjunction with 'Festival Siwol' (Festival October), scheduled for September. Food trucks featuring Michelin-starred chefs will operate, providing high-quality meals to participants and visitors. Experiential side events for families will also be available around BEXCO. Bicycle maintenance classes, bicycle traffic safety campaigns, and children's bicycle safety classes will be offered, providing participants with the opportunity to learn and experience a safe and enjoyable cycling culture.

Ticket Sales and Use of Proceeds

Tickets for the Seven Bridge Tour will go on sale this month. Early bird sales will begin on July 16, followed by regular sales starting on July 22. Detailed information on how to purchase tickets will be announced separately later through official Busan City channels. All proceeds from ticket sales will be reinvested into event operations, including expanding participant amenities and safety facilities, and hiring professional safety personnel, thereby contributing to the successful hosting of the event and ensuring participant safety.

An official from Busan City stated that this Seven Bridge Tour is expected to significantly contribute to strengthening Busan's marine city image, providing unforgettable experiences for citizens and visitors, and ultimately enhancing Busan's urban brand value. This event is anticipated to be an important opportunity to maximize the potential of Busan's maritime infrastructure, revitalizing the local economy and elevating its status as an international tourist city.
