Lionel Scaloni, the Argentine national football team coach, stated definitively, "Messi is an irreplaceable player." 1  Indeed, Messi is the best player in Argentine football history and a key part of the national team's strength. However, recently, Messi will be absent from the important match against Uruguay due to a right adductor injury. 2  Messi's absence is a big blow to the Argentine national team, but Coach Scaloni is determined to fill Messi's void with the strength of the entire team.

Past Experience, Current Solution

In November 2021, when Messi was absent due to injury, Argentina had an experience of winning 1-0 against Uruguay. At that time, Coach Scaloni filled Messi's void by using a 4-2-3-1 formation. However, the game's content was unsatisfactory. Argentina was overwhelmed by Uruguay throughout the match and barely managed to win thanks to goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez's saves.

In this match against Uruguay, Coach Scaloni is expected to showcase a more advanced tactic based on past experience. The Argentine national team has been showing good performance recently and has proven that it is a strong team even without Messi. In particular, Nicolas Gonzalez is evaluated as a player who can perfectly fill Messi's void.

Expected Starting Lineup and Tactical Changes

Coach Scaloni is expected to use a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 formation in the match against Uruguay. Nicolas Gonzalez is highly likely to start as a left-sided attacker. Rodrigo De Paul, Enzo Fernandez, and Alexis Mac Allister are expected to form the midfield, and Lautaro Martinez and Julian Alvarez are expected to lead the attack.

Expected Starting Lineup:

Emiliano Martinez (Goalkeeper)
Nahuel Molina, Cristian Romero, Nicolas Otamendi, Nicolas Tagliafico (Defenders)
Rodrigo De Paul, Enzo Fernandez, Alexis Mac Allister, Nicolas Gonzalez (Midfielders)
Lautaro Martinez, Julian Alvarez (Forwards)
Match Outlook and Expected Effects
Argentina aims to solidify its top spot in the World Cup qualifiers by winning the match against Uruguay. Messi's absence is unfortunate, but the Argentine national team is strong enough. Under Coach Scaloni's leadership, Argentina is expected to overpower Uruguay by showcasing organized play and powerful attacking prowess.

This match will be an important opportunity for the Argentine national team to prove that it can win even without Messi. Also, the players will play more dedicatedly to fill Messi's void and strengthen teamwork.
