The "Peaceful Unification Lecture and Discussion" was held at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi, the capital of East Africa's Kenya, on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

The event was hosted by the Kenya Branch (headed by Branch President Choi Jung-hwan) under the Africa Council of the Peaceful Unification Advisory Council (headed by Council President Choi Young-moon). Approximately 60 overseas Koreans and missionaries participated in the lecture and discussion session, followed by a luncheon and friendly conversations with fellow compatriots.

During the first half of the event, lectures were delivered on the significance of Korean Peninsula unification. In the second half, National Tax Service professional instructors gave a special tax lecture for overseas Koreans via an online Zoom meeting, and Kenya Korean Association President Choi Young-moon provided a brief explanation of Kenyan tax law.

Ambassador to Kenya Kang Hyung-shik, who took the podium as a lecturer, delivered an enthusiastic lecture drawing on his diplomatic experience regarding the changing environment surrounding the Korean Peninsula, the crucial importance of unification, the unification and North Korean policies of the Lee Jae-myung administration, and the roles of overseas compatriots, which was followed by a Q&A session.
