"Find Comfort"... The Melon Top 3 Singer Who Received Raving Reviews Turns Out to Be a 'Major Plot Twist'

"I wish artificial intelligence (AI) would do my laundry and dishes so that I could paint and write. I don't want to do laundry and dishes while AI paints and writes for me."

This was posted on social media by author Joanna Maciejewska in March 2024. It is an argument that humans should leave chores they dislike to AI and focus on what they love. The post gained massive traction online and spread as a meme.

More than two years later, reality is moving in the exact opposite direction. AI is singing songs that make people cry and writing poetry that draws admiration. The boundaries of emotion and creation, once considered uniquely human domains, are beginning to blur.

"I definitely received comfort from that voice."

This is a comment left on the song "Did You Become the Adult You Dreamed Of?" recently uploaded to YouTube. Released in June by creator 'Moumuru', the track gained popularity for its lyrics capturing the wavering hearts of those who have grown up. As of 6 PM on the 13th, it rose to No. 3 on the Melon TOP100 chart. Its YouTube view count has also surpassed 10 million.

The catch is that the voice belongs not to a human, but to AI. While Moumuru directly wrote the lyrics and planned the production, the vocals were implemented using the generative music AI 'Suno'. A phenomenon is emerging where people are finding genuine comfort in an AI-generated voice.

Moumuru shared on social media, "AI is a modern musical instrument and a partner that helps translate imagination into reality. The vocals on this album were created through AI technology, while the planning, lyricism, and producing direction were done directly by me."

Expanding into Art and Religion

Similar things are happening in literature. According to a study published in the international journal Scientific Reports in November 2024 by researchers at the University of Pittsburgh, when 1,634 ordinary people were asked to distinguish between poetry written by AI and humans, the correct identification rate was only 46.6%.

The researchers compared works by 10 famous poets, including William Shakespeare and Emily Dickinson, with poems generated by ChatGPT. Participants gave higher scores to the poems created by AI in terms of rhythm and beauty. There were also many instances where AI works were judged to have been written by humans.

It has even entered the realm of religion. In 2024, an 'AI Jesus' appeared at St. Peter's Chapel in Lucerne, Switzerland. It was an experiment where a Jesus avatar displayed on a screen inside a confessional booth conversed with visitors. Over two months, 900 conversations took place.

An industry insider explained, "Humans are receiving emotion and comfort from creations and conversations made by AI. Contrary to the expectation that humans would create and machines would take over simple labor, AI is infiltrating the most emotional domains of humanity."
