Daejeon City Holds Group Blood Donation Event at City Hall North Gate... Over 500 Participants This Year Alone

To contribute to stabilizing blood supply, Daejeon City held a "Love Group Blood Donation Event" in front of the North Gate of City Hall on the 16th.

This event was jointly conducted with the Daejeon-Sejong-Chungnam Blood Center of the Korean Red Cross. Daejeon City officials and citizens voluntarily participated, serving as an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation and practice sharing life.

Daejeon City regularly holds group blood donation events every year, and this year, approximately 500 people have participated across a total of 5 sessions, contributing to a stable blood supply. In addition, the city has strengthened support for blood donors through the blood donation encouragement subsidy project and established an institutional foundation for revitalizing blood donation.

In particular, this year, the city introduced a system to grant additional special leave to blood donors belonging to municipal officials, expanding practical benefits for participation in blood donation.

Nam Si-deok, Director of the Welfare and Health Bureau of Daejeon City (Note: Medical and Health Bureau), said, "I deeply thank the public officials and citizens who willingly participated in blood donation despite their busy daily lives," adding, "We will continue to have the public official community take the lead in blood donation and make continuous efforts for a stable blood supply."
