Administrative Vice Mayor Park Yeon-byung and Sapporo International Affairs Director Naoki Zono hold a meeting on the 6th

Mutual understanding and friendship promoted through observing the Daejeon International Wine EXPO and the International Students' Solidarity Festival

A delegation from Sapporo, Japan, a sister city of Daejeon City, visited Daejeon.

Led by Naoki Zono, Director of International Affairs for Sapporo City, the delegation paid a courtesy call on Daejeon Administrative Vice Mayor Park Yeon-byung on the morning of the 6th, exchanging views on exchanges, cooperation, and future development directions between the two cities. They also delivered a personal letter from the Mayor of Sapporo inviting a Daejeon City delegation to the 2027 Sapporo Snow Festival.

During the meeting, Administrative Vice Mayor Park Yeon-byung stated, "Among Daejeon's sister and friendly cities, Sapporo—with which we established ties in 2010—enjoys the closest friendship and most active exchanges. I hope we will continue to further develop the relationship between our two cities through ongoing exchange and cooperation."

On this day, the Sapporo delegation received briefings on Daejeon City's major municipal administration status, the Ontong Daejeon 2.0 promotion policy, and support for foreign residents, taking time to understand Daejeon's urban development direction and major policies.

On the afternoon of the 6th, the delegation will visit the Daejeon International Wine EXPO to observe Daejeon's international event operations and exchanges related to the wine industry. On the 7th, they plan to attend the Daejeon City International Students' Solidarity Festival to tour a venue of exchange shared by international students of various nationalities.
