Bucheon City Introduces New 3-Liter General-Use Volume-Rate Waste Bags… On Sale Starting November 5

Reflecting the demand for small-volume disposal from single-person households and others… Improving convenience for municipal waste disposal

Bucheon City announced that starting November 5, it will newly produce and sell 3-liter general-use volume-rate waste bags to enhance convenience for citizens who generate small amounts of municipal waste.

This introduction of 3-liter volume-rate bags is a measure reflecting small-size specification demands driven by changes in living environments, such as the increase in single-person households and pet-owning households. It was pursued to improve sanitation issues caused by the long-term storage of garbage and the inefficiency of using existing volume-rate bags.

The sales price for the newly introduced 3-liter general-use volume-rate bags is 90 won per bag, and they can be purchased at designated volume-rate bag sales locations within the jurisdiction, such as convenience stores and supermarkets.

The city expects that the introduction of this small-size specification will make it easier to dispose of municipal waste in a timely manner, thereby alleviating sanitation problems caused by long-term storage, and will also reduce the economic burden on citizens through the use of bags suited to their disposal volume.

Going forward, the city plans to continuously gather citizens' opinions regarding municipal waste disposal, improve the convenience of using volume-rate bags by taking into consideration changing household compositions and living environments, establish a municipal waste disposal system tailored to citizen demand, and pursue lifestyle-friendly resource circulation policies.

A Bucheon City official stated, "The introduction of these 3-liter volume-rate bags is a measure to resolve the inconvenience for households with small amounts of municipal waste disposal and to broaden the range of choices for citizens," adding, "We will continue to create a more convenient and efficient municipal waste disposal environment by reflecting changes in citizens' living environments and diverse demands."
