The Buyeo-gun General Welfare Center for Persons with Disabilities (Director Lee Dong-gyu) announced on the 6th that it held a "Disability Awareness Improvement Campaign and Nature Purification Activity" with people with and without disabilities in the area around Gungnamji, Buyeo-gun.

This event was designed to spread a correct understanding and positive perception of disabilities, and to foster a culture of mutual respect and harmonious coexistence within the local community through the social participation and social contribution activities of people with disabilities.

First, the disability awareness improvement campaign provided local residents with accurate information about disabilities through disability-related OX quizzes and the distribution of welfare center promotional items, offering time to reflect on prejudices and misunderstandings existing in daily life and raise awareness about disabilities.

In the subsequent nature purification activity, people with and without disabilities walked together around the Gungnamji Chrysanthemum Festival site to pick up trash and clean up the environment. In particular, this activity added significance in that people with disabilities participated and contributed directly as agents who cultivate and change the local community, rather than simply being recipients of community support.

Director Lee Dong-gyu of the Buyeo-gun General Welfare Center for Persons with Disabilities stated, "Through this activity, we wanted to share that people with disabilities are also proud members of the local community who can fulfill their roles and contribute to it." He added, "We will expand the stage for action so that participation opportunities are not restricted due to a disability, and anyone can participate and contribute to the local community with their own capabilities and methods."
