Combined Ceremony, Childcare Joint Forum, and Care Expo Reinforce Community Care Cooperation

On the 16th, Daejeon City hosted the "2026 Daejeon, Family Care and Connection" event at the City Hall Auditorium and South Gate Square to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Daejeon Family Center.
This event was organized to look back on the achievements of regional family support over the past 20 years and to explore future directions for child and family care alongside the local community. The ceremony, a joint childcare forum, and a care expo were held in conjunction to share the values of family and care.
The commemoration ceremony, held at 2:00 PM in the City Hall Auditorium under the theme "Connecting 20 Years, Opening Tomorrow for Families," featured commendations awarded to 16 individuals who contributed to the advancement of family welfare. Attendees also looked back on the center's footsteps through a commemorative video highlighting its major achievements over the past two decades and a message performance.
Following the ceremony, the child care joint forum was held under the theme "Connecting Centered on Children: Connection and Transition of the Child Care and Protection System." Discussions focused on establishing a universal care system connecting schools, families, and local communities, as well as early detection and integrated support strategies for children at risk.
In particular, participants shared the necessity of service linkage among care institutions and the establishment of a one-stop support system, exploring directions for community cooperation.
Starting at 5:00 PM at South Gate Square, the Care Expo provided information on diverse child and family care services and family support programs offered by local related organizations. Experience and play programs that families could enjoy together were also operated, giving citizens a time to experience the value of care in their daily lives.
With this event as a turning point, Daejeon City plans to further strengthen cooperation among local care institutions and strive to build an integrated care support system that responds to the diverse demands of children and families.
Park Yeon-byung, Administrative Vice Mayor of Daejeon, stated, "I would like to express my gratitude to all the officials who have worked hard for the happiness and care of families over the past 20 years. Moving forward, we will work closely with the local community to create a dense care environment where every family can receive the support they need."
