Busan City Visits Everyday Civil Complaint Sites in Haeundae-gu and Gijang-gun

Today (15th), Mayor Jeon Jae-su visited Haeundae-gu and Gijang-gun for the fourth field visit of the '16 Districts and Counties, 206 Eup, Myeon, and Dong Field Communication Project' titled "Busan's Every Corner, Transforming Citizens' Everyday Lives."

Busan City (Mayor Jeon Jae-su) announced that it is holding the fourth field visit of the 'Popular Election 9th, 206 Eup, Myeon, and Dong Field Communication Project' <Busan's Citizens' Corner, Every Everyday Lives Transforming> in Haeundae-gu and Gijang-gun today (15th).

This field visit is a life-close communication project where the Mayor directly visits everyday civil complaint sites, listens to residents' voices, and responds on-site with solutions prepared in cooperation with districts, counties, and relevant city departments.

In particular, it holds significant meaning as it expands the philosophy emphasized since taking office—"Finding answers by the citizens' side and responding with changes that citizens can feel"—to every nook and cranny of all 206 eups, myeons, and dongs, establishing a regular cooperative system where the city and local districts/counties resolve local issues together.

With this visit, the city has completed field visits to 8 out of the 16 districts and counties, reaching the halfway mark of the 'Citizen Communication Project' following the start in Dong-gu and Jung-gu on September 15.

Today (15th), Mayor Jeon, accompanied by Haeundae-gu Mayor Kim Sung-soo and Gijang-gun County Mayor Woo Sung-bin, sequentially visited resident civil complaint sites in Haeundae-gu and Gijang-gun to listen directly to the voices of the residents.

First, in Haeundae-gu, they visited the Jung-dong Station Intercity Bus Terminal (planned site), Wondong IC Intersection, and Byeolbaragi Park, intensively examining local tasks that residents can experience in their actual daily lives, such as establishing the Haeundae Intercity Bus Terminal facilities, opening a pedestrian walkway between Hyundai Green Apartment and Wondong IC Intersection, and remodeling the children's play area.

Next, in Gijang-gun, they visited the Gijang Market Bus Stop, the northern sidewalk of Gijang Market, and Manhwacheon Stream, inspecting pending issues directly tied to resident convenience—such as revitalizing commercial districts through traditional market environmental improvements and disaster prevention and pedestrian environment improvements along the stream—while listening to the voices of small business owners on-site.

Mayor Jeon plans to directly listen to the opinions of residents and officials at each site and discuss solutions for local issues with the district and county mayors. In particular, he intends to express his commitment to actively cooperating with districts and counties to swiftly promote necessary projects for resident inconveniences identified on-site and to make utmost efforts to provide relevant budget support.

Lastly, Mayor Jeon held a 'Deulbap (field meal) with Citizens' luncheon with Gijang-gun County Mayor and residents at the Good Price Establishment 'Gamatok Saengbokjip' near Gijang Market to hear vivid voices from small business owners and residents.

The luncheon venue, 'Gamatok Saengbokjip,' is a 32-year-old blowfish specialty restaurant that has received great love from local residents for practicing sharing to help neighbors in need with the same warm warmth as the boiling blowfish soup in the traditional cauldron (gamatot).

In particular, warmth was added to the story as it became known that restaurant owners Shim Mi-rye and her spouse have been sending warm food such as soup and boiled pork to the Gijang Senior Welfare Center since 2002, and personally preparing around 70 lunchboxes containing four side dishes every week to deliver to marginalized neighbors. Mayor Jeon plans to deliver a specially crafted Good Price Establishment cheering plaque containing gratitude to the restaurant representative who has practiced love for neighbors.

Mayor Jeon stated, "Based on the opinions heard in the field, we will create actual daily changes that can be felt," adding, "During my 4-year term, I will run even harder to listen to the voices of residents across every single one of the 206 eups, myeons, and dongs, and will continue to uphold an administration that always responds."
